Sesame Green Beans

SESAME GREEN BEANS

1-pound green beans, ends removed

2 Tablespoons olive oil

½ cup water

1 ½ Tablespoons soy sauce

1 Tablespoon toasted sesame oil

1 clove garlic, minced

1 to 2 Tablespoons fresh ginger, minced

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 Tablespoon sesame seeds

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and garlic over medium heat. Sauté until the garlic is soft but not brown, about a minute. Add the green beans, water and sesame oil. Cover and cook for 8 to 9 minutes, stirring several times, until the beans are bright green and crisp but tender when bitten. Add the soy sauce and red pepper flakes, stirring frequently for 3 minutes. Add the sesame seeds and remove from the heat. These are yummy hot or chilled.
